The Mystery is Over!
The all knowing-all seeing Donna Lethal fingered the one and only Arlene Francis (with Matt seconding)! Donna even knew that dear, sweet Arlene was not merely involved with ONE death, but TWO! Blood on both hands! Driving home on a slick road, the car in front of her skidded, forcing Arlene to hit her brakes, causing her to skid into the path of another car, killing its driver......(from, Arlene Francis, A Memoir by Arlene Francis with Florence Rome) I was driving back from Long Island on a "slippery-when-wet road (although why we, the richest country in the world, should have roads that are slippery when wet I cannot understand)." And to this remark, I reply, Arlene, the attitude in this statement is the exact attitude the artist captured in this painting.
And the brilliant Mr.Peenee nailed felon #2 with his guess of John Waters! This excerpt came out of John's latest book, Role Models. I took the liberty of omitting that the road he was driving on was located in Baltimore and that his driving companion had been Mink Stole. Who knew Peenee would glean the answer from the "long oily hair"! Congratulations to my brilliant readers and thank you to all that popped in!
My copy of Role Models just arrived in the mail today!
ReplyDeleteYay! I'm a nailer!
ReplyDeleteI fingered Arlene Francis.
ReplyDeletemj: you'll let me know what you think.
ReplyDeletepeenee:is this news?
donna: wish i coulda been at that line-up.
Well, John Waters is on a pedestal where Mistress MJ is concerned. Frankly, it's his talent as a writer and raconteur that I appreciate even more than his films.
ReplyDeleteAll I'm saying is to turn to page 99-100 for the story of his pencil-thin mustache.
And you MUST read the chapter on Baltimore drinking establishments.
