  1. I'd like to see you and TJB, to name just two, as panelists on What's My Line.

  2. Hazel always made chicken livers wrapped in bacon hors d'oeuvres for Mr. B's boss when he came to dinner.
As a child with high aspirations, I begged my mother to make these exotic treats, she did not, I begged her to hire a maid, she did not. I cried.
Shirley Booth later caused me to weep less temperamental tears as the dowdy wife and (ironically) slovenly housekeeper in Come Back Little Sheba.
    Sigh,
    X David

david:why i don't own all the hazel DVDs is beyond me. i adore her. if you ever get the chance, catch "about mrs. leslie". without her, it would have been crap, but she elevated everything she touched.

  4. We had maids in our house growing up, but the cleaning lady, that would be the lady who cleaned, not the maids who chased after us to keep the house clean and answer the door should someone arrive, was an old wrinkle black woman name Mattie who looked with dried up old raisin. She smoked cigarettes in the closet and I don't think that one of those maid tiarras would stay up on top her nasty, greasy head.
