My grandmother had a set like this in a spare bedroom. She kept religious statues and a sick call set on the corner table and used this as a prayer room. The covers were a large and somewhat abstract floral print with red and green on a black background. I spent many occasion kneeling in front of it.
I never understood. Back in the day you could NEVEH invite a girl (if you were a boy, or vise versa) to sit with you on your bed, yet it was perfectly fine to invite them to sit with you on this bed, designed to "look" like a couch, simply because it had bolsters.
Luckily I had not resistance from my parents at all when it came to getting another guy on a bed...
"Do you think Abby or Ann had this in their rumpus room?" No, but WE did in 60's/70's Long Island, in a navy blue and gray plaid print slipcover. Oh those bolsters, I miss them sooooo!
I'm guessing Ann.
ReplyDeleteAbby's would have an open bottle and cocktail glasses on the side table.
I'm changing my name to "Nubby Olefin Tweed."
