Blasto from the Pasto

Not to worry, I'm not going all Esther Zidel on your asses.
My dearest friend found this snapshot in her Nana's photo album.
She hasn't a clue who she is.
We will never know who she is.
For all we know, there isn't a living soul that remembers her.

So, now that I've brought the room down, let's take a good look at this
hubba-hubba dame with that hand on that hip and all her fabulousness.
Honey, you were something!

  3. What a treasure of a find!I adore these old pictures and have many. Dames had such class and fashion sense then. You should make another copy and photoshop croc on the feet. It will send Mj over the edge!!!

  5. It was cold, and her feet were getting wet. She had a twinge of concern about her best shoes.

The two girls, the Scrivelli twins from down the block, are going home; tomorrow they have a Civics test and have to remember every article of the Constitution.

In a few minutes, she and her sister (Margie?), who's taking the picture, will go inside. Later, Phil Spitalny and his All Girl Orchestra will be on the Crosby show, and Pops likes it when they all listen in. She'll work on the dress she's making, dark brown taffeta, because Jerry from the corner wants to take her to the Pharmacists' Ball. It'll be upstairs at the Legion Hall; they do a real nice spread.

Smells: slush, damp fur, Pall Malls, "Evening in Paris" perfume, Mom's chicken a la King from the kitchen. Murphy's oil soap in the hallway. Mrs. Verhoeven upstairs is touching up her roots, and the sharp chemical smell drifts down; Pops wrinkles his nose and calls her a fast baggage...
