I just found out at Donna Lethal's that there's a "rumor" going around which says that dear, daffy Liza is set to play Norma Desmond....yes, that Norma Desmond, in "Sunset Boulevard". I'm having big trouble wrapping my head around the campiest thing on two surgically altered legs bringing a serious nuance to a role that has always bordered on high camp. In the correct hands, we know how well it can be done. I predict it will be "Mommie Dearest" with Faye and "The Milk Train Doesn't Stop Here Anymore" with Tallulah redux. Though I wish Liza happiness, money and whatever else she wants, I hope she says no to this late term abortion of an idea and stays where she belongs, playing Lucille 2 in the "Arrested Development" movie.
