..Mary Jane Croft arrived In Muncie, Indiana.
She must've been a great actress. I always loved when she was featured, but at the same time, I couldn't stand her. Lucie Arnaz was quoted as saying that she wasn't at all the ditsy blonde she portrayed. But gawd, that voice.

She had a strange role on the Lucy show - hse was living "prop". Her role was to walk in and say a couple lines and then exit the story line. But the plastic plants in Lucy's "apartment" had more of a role in the show than croft.

she had a few guest spots on the earlier seasons of ILL, a memorable one as the dame that is seated next to lucy on the plane as the "gang" returns home from the european tour. i know y'all remember it....lucy smuggled that huge cheese and said it was her baby. ultimately, it was mj (yes, the OTHER white meat) that blew lucy's cover. once in connecticut, mj was usually the brass ring lucy was trying to grab, quite the opposite of ethel mertz. i also remember mj from ozzie & harriet. she played the neighbor clara in that same nails on blackboard, grating manner. like i mentioned, lucie said she was not at all who she portrayed. this makes me think she was a good actress. who knows?
