June 25th
An interesting day, birth and death-wise. 1852, Antoni Gaudi, who, among other things, made much of Barcelona magnificent. 1903 saw the birth of once busy and blacklisted character actress, Anne Revere. Sidney Lumet arrived in 1923 and June Lockhart arrived exactly two years later. Carly (I'm so vain, I probably think this blog is about me) Simon popped out of a publishing perquawkia, 1945. Good lord, Jimmie "JJ" Walker exploded onto the scene in '47. Wishful thinking on Mr. Bourdain's part? And the last two birthdays are entertaining Brits. Ricky Gervais, 1961 and George Michael, 1963, though '69 is often linked with his name.
As for checking out, the lovely Charlie Starkweather waved bye-bye in 1959. Johnny Mercer died too soon in 1976 and then there's Mr. Jackson, whose demise had slipped my mind.
