    Off topic...I watched Georgia Rule the other night and there is a scene where Jane Fonda is wearing a hat like her father wore in On Golden Pond...she looked just like him.

    It's funny that you post this. I've been thinking of this era a lot lately. While these were really troubled and fucked up times, it was also a period which saw the birth of many cool things. An opening up.

    Maybe I'm a little Pollyanna-ish, but I think things are very similar now.

    And you know who Dina Merrill's mother was, don't you? Marjorie Post Close Hutton Davies May (better known as just Marjorie Post).

    Post has always been my favorite American heiress because she went out and did things - she was a victim like her niece, America's poor little rich girl, Barbara Hutton.
