New York City, 1939

A gent bought a bunch of mystery 8MM film at a junk shop
and this silent footage from the Thanksgiving Day Parade,
1939 was one of them. Darn cool I say.

  1. Norma,
This is THE most captivating footage, I'm in awe.
I could say a million praises, but one word sums this up for me: Rosebud.

  2. The Wizard of Oz float must have been quite a hit as that was the year the film was released.

  5. Fascinating story. I watched this years over produced parade and this one is so much simpler and nostalgic.

  8. My favorite was the first one: Durante's nose...

But DAMN! That Gulliver (I think it was Gulliver), The sexiest float I've ever seen, I'd do him, all dandy, supine & shit.

#3, What a lousy Santa... Can't even bother to wave...

    Thanks for the treat, love!
