DON'T EVEN ASK ME HOW TO PRONOUNCE HER NAME.
YES, COOKIE KNEW HER RIGHT OFF THE BAT.
SHE AND IL DUCE HAD QUITE THE TIME
SINGING THE OLD THEME SONG TO
"GOOD TIMES."
WIKIPEDIA HAS A THOUGHTFUL BIO OF
MIZZ JA'NET, BUT I ESPECIALLY ENJOYED
THE LAST SENTENCE.

"She is a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority. She has three
children, Rani, Burghardt and Yovanne."
My understanding that Ja'net is pronounced Jeanette. Unless you are in Scandinavia, and it would be Yahnette.
ReplyDeleteand my understanding is that if i need to get her
Deleteattention in the wic line, i'll simply say, "hey you!"
Birghardt?
ReplyDelete...and "Dubois" means "from the wood".
ReplyDeletethen everyones name should be dubois
Deletesince we're all, "from the wood."
Burghardt -?! WOW.
ReplyDeleteOld Germanic names like Siegfried or Kriemhild are not the rage here (at least since 1945), also catholic ones like Burghardt or Norbert (both saints, btw with a strong Franconian relation, I think St. Burkhardt is buried here in the region) are also found mostly in the generation born between 1950 and 1960. Rani sounds Indian to me. I have no clue about this accent in her first name, or is it an apostrophe, I can't make sense of it in both cases. I think Cookie is right, it tries to fix / write down the French articulation of her name.
i say she shtupped a hindu,
Deletea german & then leroy, from the hood.
Oddly enough, her grandchildren are named Zeta, Phi, and Beta.
ReplyDeletethey must be sorority sisters.
