OKAY PEOPLE, WEIGH IN

I PROBABLY SHOULDN'T HAVE BEEN SCROLLING MY FARTBOOK WALL, BUT ALAS I WAS AND THIS QUESTION WAS PRESENTED TO ME. I WASN'T IN A MOOD TO COMPOSE SOME WITTY RETORT AND SIMPLY POSTED,

"THIS IS A STUPID QUESTION."

WELL, YOU CAN IMAGINE THE SHITSTORM THAT ENSUED.

DEAR READERS, YOUR OPINIONS?

  1. The person posing the question is being culturally insensitive! Clearly the yoga instructor is from some Third World country were, by comparison, a cesspool is a pristine and serene body of water!

    1. oh don't worry, i'm losing no sleep over this. like i said, i just thought it was a ridiculous question. i think the writer of said question is of another nationality..."nylce?" and she needs to learn what common sense means.

I MEAN, REALLY...WHO WOULD LISTEN TO SOMEONE TELL THEM TO VISUALIZE
THEMSELVES FLOATING IN A NICE CALM CESSPOOL AND NOT SAY SOMETHING?

  2. Thanks...
You just caused me to look her up on facebook & snoop around for about an hour.

  3. In terms of the original question, I'd just send the teacher a couple of choice cesspool pix, preferably with copious floaters.

In terms of your response, totally with you. Not enough stupid people are being made aware of their shocking inadequacy. l count me in on the Connie Marbles school of tough love.

"THANK YOU. THANK YOU FOR ANSWERING MY QUESTION!"

  4. If a teacher said something like that to me in a Yoga class I would piss myself laughing... which would be appropriate if I was imagining myself in a cesspool.

  5. I know that I would like to know that I was using a word incorrectly, however so much depends on how people present the clarification.

    1. i think a gentle yet firm slap,
      followed by the word, then
      an example of correct usage
      usually makes the point.

  6. I'm with Cookie. Sadly, the world is filled with ignorance. Let me consult Emily Post. And...today is my 12n yoga class-I will try not to laugh.

  7. kabuki is also going with stupid. Too use a word without understanding its meaning is emancapation.

    1. emancipation is the exact word bruce's cesspool service
used when he'd remove the lid from the ground and begin pumping.

      are you clairvoyant too?

  8. I have often described my blog as a cesspool.

    That should clear up matters.

  9. The cesspools of my youth were pretty quiet, soothing even, as long as you did not smoke and explode ... so yes, it's a stupid question, let the lady go on teaching the fine art of yoga using this image of speech, it fits on so many levels.

BTW Norma, you ever wear yellow?
    I'm asking for a duck.

  10. yellow what? if you're asking if it's my color,
    sadly no it's not.

  11. My knowledge of the English language isn't broad enough so I had to google up the word "cesspool"...

    I'm educated now!

I might have committed the same crime quite often, so I beg everyone to please slap me if I ever use a word in an inappropriate way... or just let it be and have a big laugh at my expense.
