Elegance is not easy to define, but we recognize it the moment we see it.

I suppose I'd never seen a photo of the young Helen Mirren,
so when I saw this one I was shocked.
I find it tough to see today's Helen in yesterday's picture.

LX did a bang up job of naming the old broad!
Bravo darling!

I'm considering parting gifts for one and all and this
is what's on my short list. You likey?

and it's "remarkably priced."

  1. LX FINALLY WON SOMETHING!!!

I misread that as "Floral STENCH Watch."

Do I get bonus points for watching "Hitchcock" earlier this evening, starring Helen Mirren?

    1. didn't you read the small print?
      substitutions are not allowed!

why "they" would want a crappy scarf
over this glamorous watch is beyond me.

  4. "stretches to fit any wrist"

Are they insinuating I have a weight problem?

  5. Nice to learn that the watch will arrive in a "luxurious presentation case" and not in a stained brown paper back as usual ...

  6. Does the "Diabetes Smart" mention on top of the add means that the watch also takes your blood sugar level at any time?

  7. I assume "18kt gold tone" is a Danbury Mint euphemism for "will turn your wrist green to match the peridot". Jx

PS Dame Helen is excellent value, no matter what crappy film in which she appears (The Extravaganza of Golgotha Smuts, Hussy, The Quiz Kid, anyone?).

    1. "The Extravaganza of Golgotha Smuts" - I really thought you invented this title, Jon, until I found that fillum on the web. It is not listed in her wikipedia entries.

    2. An unfeasible title, indeed. Jx

  8. 18K gold tone is kabuki's very favorite of the gold tones. A wise and elegant choice.

  9. Helen Mirren, what's not to like???

I'm sure she would approve of the stretching quality of this lovely timepiece...
