Today

The first Bogie & Bacall films were okay, but never my favorites. It was always my impression that their canoodling was what made them "special."I enjoyed her more when she was devouring the scenery in things like "Shock Treatment" as Dr. Beighley (don'tcha love that spelling of Bailey?) Also loved her with Marilyn and Betty in "Millionaire." But, "Sex and the Single Girl" a goofy picture I watched as a small kid, was probably the first time I saw Bacall and I found her completely terrifying. And I loved it and her in it.

Mustn't forget this brilliance.

Robin is another story altogether.
I had no intention of writing anything about this sad, sad ending, but will, if only to say how much I adored him in, "Garp" and how fabulous he really was in it.

I hope there ain't a third, I'm in no mood.

  1. Of the Robin Williams movies that I have seen, I most respect the work he did in One Hour Photo.

RIP Ms Bacall and Mr Williams.

  3. Two of my favorites went, more so Bacall. I can't take any more Norma. If something yet happens to Loren I'm jumping off a bridge. You have great taste in movies dear.

  6. Losing Alexandra Bastedo, Kate O'Mara, Stritchy and Dora Bryan this year so far has been bad enough - but Miss Bacall is a really sad loss. I hope Carol Channing's feeling OK.

RIP Betty (and Robin too). Jx

  8. I'm with Cookie! Those two were BIG names so the third should follow suit.

I skipped school with my brother to see Garp in the theater.

My favorite part of Sex and the Single Girl was Bacall and Fonda doing the Watusi in silence.

    R.I.P.
