Kind Lady (1951)

This is Maurice Evans, probably known to most as Samantha's father on, "Bewitched", as well as Dr. Zaius in, "Planet of the Apes". He was also Rosemary's best bud in, "Rosemary's Baby". This AM, TCM was running, "Kind Lady" and I noticed Maurice in it and noticed that he was in this outfit (yes, small things thrill me). The photo was snapped November 30, 1950 which makes sense with the film being listed as 1951. Interestingly, it shows here that Maurice had last worked in "Scrooge" (1935) billed as "Poor Man". I wondered what he might have been doing between '35 & '51 and sauntered over here and found out exactly what he did those 16 years. Veddy busy on Broadway, Maurice was a go-to-guy when it came to Shakespeare, among other things. His last listed treading of the boards was in 1962.
