ADVANCING AGE AND SENILITY

TODAY, MUM AND I WERE TRYING TO THINK OF THE
NAME OF A CERTAIN ENTERTAINER. I KNEW EXACTLY WHO SHE
MEANT...I RECALLED HER TELLING THE STORY OF HOW SHE'D SEEN
HIM IN THE SUPERMARKET 10,000 YEARS AGO.

MIRACULOUSLY, WITHOUT THE AID OF GOOGLE AND WITHIN
THE SAME PHONE CALL, I WAS ABLE TO THINK OF HIS NAME.

HERE'S OH SO FABULOUS NANCY WILSON WITH THE MYSTERY
MAN OF THE DAY, GEORGE KIRBY AS HE JOINS HER FOR A DUET.

  1. My memory of him was as a standup comedian on several variety shows.

  2. Kirby was a staple of comedy shows, but I think he also did impersonations as well. For some real I have him associated with a Rich Little

    1. And I was correct. I had to look it up, but he was on "The Copycats" and was one of the first black impressionists to mimic white personalities.

  6. I remember him, he popped up everywhere at the time but haven't thought of him for years.
I thought he was so funny, but of course I was a child, 10,000 years ago...
