 AND BY STUPID I MEAN THERE'S A TOO LONG LINE OF THESE FAMOUS PEOPLE, SOME CRAZILY TALENTED THAT DIE WAY TOO EARLY BECAUSE OF DUMB THINGS LIKE DRUGS AND DRINK. WHENEVER I SEE ANYTHING ABOUT WHITNEY HOUSTON I IMMEDIATELY GROWL, ANGRY THAT BITCH IS GONE.

This is our living room, captured with a black & white Polaroid. It's easy to surmise that there wasn't tons of money for lots of gifts. That bicycle was a hand-me-down from someone. I'm noticing it was a girl's bike. Hmm. 

We received some presents Christmas morning for a number of years as well as a few Chanukah gifts. I never really wondered why we were getting "Christmas" presents, hell, any day was a good day for presents! Turns out we were getting gifts on December 24th because that was our parents wedding anniversary, but we didn't know it! We were told Mum & Dad got married September 24th! 

Seems someone had been pregnant and a shotgun was involved.

                                                                                      

Notice what's on top of that Zenith television set. 

I still have that clock and vase. My sister has the menorah.

BUZZR AIRS A FASCINATING RELIC ON SATURDAY MORNINGS. 

THE ORIGINAL EVENING VERSION OF THE PRICE IS RIGHT (FROM 1959-60ish) IS AN AMAZING GLIMPSE INTO YESTERDAY. ON TODAY'S AIRING THEY JUST GAVE AWAY A VERY COOL KITCHEN. WASHER/DRYER, RANGE, OVEN, DISHWASHER & REFRIGERATOR ALL BUILT INTO CUSTOM CABINETS. THE ENTIRE WALL OF GOODIES WAS VALUED AT A BIT OVER $3000.00.

ALL THE CONTESTANTS HAD TO DO WAS CORRECTLY GUESS THE PRICE OF AN ELECTRIC CAN OPENER. 

THE CORRECT PRICE OF THE OPENER WAS APPROXIMATELY $30.00(!) WHICH SEEMED CRAZY. AFTER CHECKING, I FOUND THAT $30.00 IN 1960 TRANSLATES TO $300.00 TODAY.

HAVE I MENTIONED HOW HIDEOUS THE WORLD IS.

THIS IS 46 MINUTES LONG, SO GRAB A DRINK AND 

A CIGARETTE AND REVEL IN 1970s and '80s POP CULTURE.

I was kind of shocked by some of the people I saw. It just blew my mind to see such older luminaries as Virginia Mayo, Olivia deHavilland, Evelyn Keyes, Dorothy Lamour, Dennis Morgan, Patsy Kelley, Lana Turner, Claire Trevor and Walter Slezak. Gloria Vanderbilt was an unexpected surprise too. 

I also noticed that Marla Gibbs (of The Jeffersons fame) is MARIA GIBBS. 

And yes, you will tire of Jack Jones and the theme song since it never, ever ends.

What there are is gobs of TV people, folks who were on other shows. I barely recalled many of them. There were also a bunch of faces & names where I drew a blank. I wondered if there might have been a separate Love Boat UK franchise? I don't remember what night this show aired, but my feeling is Friday and if that's right, then I missed lots of these since I was out trying to get laid.
